Commissioners in Mecklenburg County voted 6-2 Tuesday in favor of $75 million in public investments for the planned 中庭 Health innovation district. 中庭, which plans to build a medical school and innovation district in the center of Charlotte, now has the support of both the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners and the Charlotte City Council. The city council members unanimously voted last month to approve the incentives and tax reimbursements.

Both the city and the county have now agreed to pitch in with a combination of a $60 million tax increment grant and $15 million in bonds, 哪些会报销. The county will reimburse 中庭 Health 90% of new property taxes generated by the project for 15 years or until the amount reaches $38 million.

The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance is an important part of a campaign advocating to the region’s elected officials and business leaders for the innovation district project.
